Whitney Ball, RIP
Whitney will be missed, but her legacy will live on forever because we are a freer people today because of her life’s work.
Whitney Ball, a hero of liberty, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, night after a long battle with cancer. She fought that battle with grace and dignity, just as she fought for the freedom of the human spirit with tenacity and focus.
Others knew Whitney far better than I – you can read more about her here – but I will always remember the kindness and generosity Whitney showed me as I entered the freedom movement in 2004. I had no reasonable qualifications for the first position I held. When others had doubts, Whitney offered support. I was touched by her helpful, kind advice to a total stranger.
Whitney’s compass guided – and still guides – many. The extraordinary thing about her is how common this story is among those who knew her. She has helped so many, and thus advanced the cause of freedom so well.
Whitney will be missed, but her legacy will live on forever because we are a freer people today because of her life’s work.
