Illinois lawmaker salaries are the fifth highest in the nation. And Speaker Madigan and Senate President Cullerton take home some of the largest leadership bonuses in the nation – at $25,000 each.

In 2017, taxpayers contributed the equivalent of nearly $123,000 per lawmaker in pension costs alone.
