Illinois state government has created a useful one-stop shop website at www.sunshine.illinois.gov with the goal of bringing more transparency to the workings of your state government.

According to the website, the state created this resource by starting with “Sunshine Week’s list of 20 top categories that serve the public interest; over time, this portal will expand to accommodate more requests for information.”

Find information about licenses, school report cards, contracts, state websites, inspection reports, and more.

Kudos to the state for setting this up.
