For those statistical fanatics out there, I’ve attached a report put together by the American Highway Users Alliance and IHS Global Insight illustrating the importance of snow removal from an economic point of view.
The study takes a closer look at the expenses incurred by businesses and governments from impassible roads. The study found that in some states, expenses ranged from $300 to $700 million. Snowstorms do not solely impact motorists, they have the potential to stymie economic activity — impacting wages to sales and tax revenue.
Take a look at IHS and Highway User’s findings in the attached report. Find the release of the report here.
