With McLean County looking at a 13% property tax levy increase, several residents voiced their concerns and frustrations about it during a public hearing before Thursday’s County Board meeting
The county hopes to levy about $46.3 million for taxes payable in 2024, or about $5.7 million more than last year. State law says a taxing district must have a public hearing if it intends to adopt an aggregate levy greater than 5% more than received in the previous year.
