Recently, Kane County became the first county to receive a perfect transparency score from the Institute. This was part of our ongoing Local Transparency Project, an initiative to audit local government websites and rate them on several factors, such as the availability of public meeting schedules, government employee salaries, tax rates and other vital community information.
