The prosperous path: Join us on April 20 for a luncheon with Gov. Scott Walker

3/16/2012

Last year Illinois and Wisconsin both faced severe budget crises, but the paths they took to respond could not be more different. For Illinois, Gov. Quinn chose the path of tax hikes – the highest in state history – and it has led to disaster. Unemployment is up, businesses and taxpayers have left the state, our deficit is $8.5 billion and growing, state workers didn’t receive raises they were promised…the list goes on and on.

Wisconsin chose a different path, and it’s working. With Gov. Walker at the helm, our neighbor to the north took real steps toward reform and closed their budget gap without tax increases or broken promises.

Join us on Friday, April 20, as we host Gov. Walker for a luncheon and important discussion on what Illinois can learn from Wisconsin’s choice to turn their state around.

Date:         Friday, April 20, 2012
Time:        12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Location:  190 S. LaSalle Street, 40th Floor Library,
                   Chicago, IL 60603
