Thank you for visiting IlllinoisOpenGov.org. Information on state spending and salaries can now be found on the State of Illinois Transparency & Accountability Portal.

If you are interested in learning more about the state’s budget policies and spending practices, please visit the Illinois Policy Institute’s fiscal analysis page.

The Illinois Policy Institute is working to conduct audits of hundreds, and soon thousands, of Illinois' over 6,000 local government taxing bodies and working with government administrators to make Illinois more transparent. To find out more please visit the Illinois Policy Institute's Local Transparency Project page and request an audit to be done in your hometown.

Along with the Local Transparency Project, the Illinois Policy Institute has developed a 10-Point Transparency Checklist and a Transparency Pledge to hold government & elected officials accountable to the citizens and taxpayers and provide a “best practices” framework to improve government transparency all across Illinois.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Brian Costin at bcostin@illinoispolicy.org or 312-346-5700.
